If you are a female in your 30’s, 40’s, 50’s or 60’s you need to be doing strength training! In this video I explain why, and how.
It’s a fact that past the age of 30 women start to lose lean muscle, strength, bone density, and our ability to produce power. It’s not easy to gain lean muscle as we hit peri-menopause and menopause, but it’s not impossible either! Strength training is needed to slow down the biological effects of ageing in our bodies (because of how our hormones change).
With the right kind of strength training we can continue to be athletic, competitive, healthy and reduce our risk of injury and diseases like osteoporosis. So the key message is – if you aren’t already incorporating resistance/strength training that’s “hard” in your exercise routine, then do something about that before it’s too late. Your body will thank you for it.
